From Thursday 13th to Monday 17th, Namisindwa District Local Government successfully underwent the Local Government Management of Service Delivery (LGMSD) Performance Assessment.

The assessment was carried out by MES & Partners Ltd, a consultancy firm contracted by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) to evaluate performance and strengthen service delivery mechanisms across local governments in Uganda.

The LGMSD assessment aims to examine how effectively local governments are planning, managing, and delivering essential public services. It focuses on key areas such as:

  • Governance and accountability
  • Financial management
  • Service delivery performance in sectors like education, health, infrastructure, and community development
  • Compliance with national standards and guidelines
  • Community engagement and responsiveness

By reviewing these areas, the assessment provides crucial insights that help districts understand their strengths, identify gaps, and implement targeted improvements.

  • Reviewing departmental performance reports
  • Inspecting service delivery points
  • Verifying documentation and compliance
  • Holding discussions with technical officers and key personnel
  • Assessing ongoing projects and community-level interventions

Their systematic approach ensured a comprehensive evaluation of the district’s capacity, systems, and service delivery outcomes.
